Høstfarger/The colors of fall...

I made this card for a friend of mine, and was totally inspired by a gorgeous card made by Kristina Werner.
Completely fell in love with the triangle stamp, and it didn't take long before it arrived in the mail...

I just love the colors of fall, so I chose very different colors than the original card. But followed the same steps to create the background, using white embossing powder, and then different Distress Inks.
The sentiment is embossed in gold, and I put together some leaves and skeleton leaves behind it.
Finally some sequins, attached with Multi Medium Matte from Ranger.

I've made several backgrounds like these, in different colors. And it is so much fun every time to see how they turn out.

Farsdagskort/Fathers Day

Søndag var det farsdag, og jeg laget et Kvikklunchkort til min far.
Synes disse kortene er enkle og kjekke å lage. Jeg brukte Kraftkartong til å brette kortet, og ellers bare restepapir.
I made this envelopecard containing the Norwegian chocolate called Kvikklunch for my father.
Crafts.
The base is made of Kraft cardstock, and then just some leftover papers to decorate it. Stamps from Papirdesign and Kort & Godt. It is closed using Hook & Loops from Joy Crafts.

Finally showing the cards my daughters made for their father, with just a little bit help from me.... :-)

More Halloween......

I wanted to make Halloweencards for my daughters as well. They both love Halloween and all kinds of spooky stuff....

I used stamps from Joy! Crafts, Vintage Homes. Clearly not meant for Halloween, but with dark colors and spiderwebs they are easily turned into spooky houses.
I stamped on watercolor paper, and made the backgrounds with Distress Ink. The little witches are stamps from Clearly Besotted, colored with watercolor pencils.
For the first card, I also made a bright moon, and found some mini bats that were perfect for the theme.

The next one is made with the same techniques. Here I also stamped some spiderwebs and a raven.
The mummy is made out of a piece of cardstock, and then lots of cheese cloth wrapped around it.

Finally, I just wanted to show the Halloweencards made by my 12-years-old girls themselves.
They totally fell in love with the 'Day of the Dead'-stamps from Tim Holtz. And did a great job coloring them with watercolor pencils. Some extra stamping, and the cards turned out amazing!

Have a nice week-end!

Happy Halloween!

I just love the colors and the different images for Halloween, so I just had to make some cards.
First I made this one, totally inspired by Debby Hughes/Lime Doodle Design.
I stamped some circles with stamps from Joy! Craft, and embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I used several layers of watercolors. The black center of the eyes are made with enamel accent.
Some more stamping in black, and some of them are embossed. Finally splatters and sequins.

The next one is inpired from many cards I've seen lately, with backgrounds made with Distress Ink.
I used grey and purple together, after masking a circle. The treeline and the small bats are stamps from Tim Holtz. And the adorable huge bat is a stamp I've had laying around for years. Finally I found the perfect card for it.
It doesn't show very well, but I also highlighted some parts with a glitter pen from Wink of Stella.

My daughters have been out 'trick or treat'ing tonight, in an awful weather! So now they have changed into dry clothes, and are waiting for me to make them cocoa....
Have a nice Halloween!

Shabby chic.....

I made this card for my american cousins 60th birthday this summer.
The papers are all from Maja Design. I really like to make personalized cards, so I tried to incorporate things my cousin likes.
She loves bikerides and travelling, works on a cruiseship, and loves everything Norwegian.
The metal embellishments are from Prima. I used dies from Kort&Godt to make the tags, and another die from Tim Holtz to make the doilie..
Finally some splatters of white gesso and gold mist.

Have a nice week-end!

Crazy Dogs

I just love the Crazy Dogs from Tim Holtz, and here are two cards I made recently.
I saw a tutorial at Simonsaysstampblog, showing how to color images with Distress Crayons. And I just had to try it right away.
I stamped the images on Distress Watercolor Cardstock, and colored it with Distress Crayons + water. When it was totally dry, I created the background with Distress Inks.
The sentiment is a stamp from Dylusions, and I also used some metal stars from Finnabair.

This was so much fun, so I just had to make another one.
I used the same techniques as the previous one.
The sentiment is from Crazy Talk, and I embossed it with black embossing powder.

Distress Crayons come in so many colors now, so I'm planning some very colorful crazy birds next....

Pokemon-hunters

Pokemon GO was a major hit this summer (and still is...). And of course, we all got hooked. I just had to make a page with this photo, taken by my sister, showing me, my husband, our girls, my niece.... all completely focused on our phones.
I made the background with Distress Inks and stencils. Trying to choose colors to go with the Pokemons. And also some random stamping.
The Pokemons were printed on white cardstock, and then cut out. The problem was that I wanted to use them all...... By putting them inbetween the layers of papers, I managed to leave none behind...
The letters are from Tim Holtz. I finished the page with some splatters and enamel dots.
I just hade to include the purple "rattata", so I put it in the corner, above the journaling.
It was a fun page to make, and I guess I have to make more with the same topic. Both my girls want Pokemon-pages in their albums.

Birthday card - grey/black + red

I made this card for a wonderful lady who recently turned 50.
I really love this stamp from Dina Wakley, so I decided to use the star as the main focus. (I later discovered that I probably stamped it upside down, but hopefully no one noticed... :-) )
I embossed the star with black embossingpowder, and also used a pencil to outline it. Then I used some water to smudge the pencil lines. A technique I picked up from DeeDee Catrons blog.
The papers are from Dixi Craft, and I used a thin layer of white gesso before I started stamping.
The small strips of text are from a 7 Dots Studio collection.
I love the combination of grey/black and red, so the chipboard is dyed with red Distress Stain. And finally some red enamel dots together with black splatters. And another favourite: the metal hearts from Finnabair.

Since I was really happy with how this card turned out, I made another one straight away. Same techniques, but different stamps and embellishments.
This time I used stamps from Joy! Crafts.
The sentiment is a die from Nellie Snellen.
I also used some strips of paper from an old book before I covered it with gesso.
Some splatters of white gesso mixed with water.
Have a nice day!

2 of a kind

This is a page I made some time ago, The photos show my daughter and her cousin. Those two blondes are so similar, both in appearance and personality....
The papers are from American Crafts. I really liked the light background, so I decided not to do any mixed media background, but rather just use all the gorgeous papers.
The flowers are stamps and dies from Joy! Crafts, and I used a pen (Wink of Stella) to add some gold glitter.
The title is an alphabet fra Kaboks.
A also used dies from Sizzix to make some wildflowers, and combined them with the other flowers.
'2 of a kind' is printed on a piece of self-adhesive canvas from Dylusions.
I also cut out some of the butterflies from the patterned papers.
Now it's back to clean up my craft room......
